ENTE-Meeting with Sabine Verheyen,
Member of the European Parliament (MEP) on 8th January 2018
On 8th January 2018 a delegation of ENTE (Nina Crommelin, Volker Igstadt, Birgid Oertel, Jan Roest, Bernhard van Welzenes) had a meeting with Mrs Sabine Verheyen (MEP).
The school education of children and adolescents whose parents are occupational travellers was on the agenda. In particular, the question was how the European Parliament could support ENTE to have ‘Blended Learning’ approved by the various Member States. ‘Blended Learning’ is a hybrid of online learning and on-site school attendance.
As a result of the conversation it was determined that ENTE sends a draft text of the current initiative-report ‘Modernisation of Education’ of the European Parliament to Mrs Verheyen’s office, so that by an amendment this contribution is included in the report which is sent to the EU-Commission. Thus, it is ensured that the EU-Commission is made attentive for the special situation of children and adolescents whose parents are occupational travellers. The commission should recognise the chances that occur with the digitalisation of teaching.
