The “Scuola Itinerante” (Travelling School) project is promoted by Casa Betania Social Cooperative (Carrara, Italy) in partnership with Sophia Social Cooperative (Rome, Italy). Launched twenty years ago with the support of Migrantes, the project aims to ensure the right to education for children and young people from families working in travelling entertainment and circus professions.
Today, the project is supported by a team of qualified tutors and programme coordinators who provide a predominantly online learning model, specifically designed to respond to the itinerant lifestyle of the students. The project cooperates with schools across Italy and maintains constant communication with teachers in order to collect educational materials, assessments and evaluations, and to ensure appropriate academic support for students.
